This scene was painted by Seferina Contreras Klinger from memories of her grandmother, Aurelia M. Contreras, and her uncle, Fidel Contreras, who worked picking cucumbers for Marks Brothers farm in Wautoma, Wisconsin in the 1960s. Aurelia was in her 80s and Fidel in his 60s in the time period of the painting. |
