Williamson Street

View looking southwest down the 600 block of Williamson Street to the East Madison Passenger Depot of the Chicago & Northwestern Railroad. There are frame buildings on the left and the Wisconsin State Capitol building in the background. The small brick building just under the capitol dome was the Milwaukee Road East Madison depot, built in 1869. A group of boys are posing in the road. The wood frame building on the right has a sign reading: "Charles Hinrichs Dry Goods Groceries, Boots and Shoes". |
