Double Exposure: Royal Theater
Double exposure of two views of the exterior of the Royal Theater at 407 Atwood Avenue in the Schenk-Atwood Neighborhood (address now 2142 Atwood). The large image shows a man (possibly Louis Schoelkopf) and a woman (possibly Emma Schoelkopf), posed in the entrance of the theater. The woman has her hand on an iron railing, and the man has his arm draped over a sandwich board movie advertisement. The smaller image shows three men standing under the theater arch among placards for the "Salamander" show. This building is now the site of Wilson's Bar. The Royal Theater may have been designed and built by Madison architect Ferdinand Kronenberg. |
