United States Ski Team International Scout
A driver's side view of an International Scout. The Scout sits in an open field with trees and various buildings in the background. The scout sports the "US Ski Team" logo on the front left panel. Original caption reads: "The United States Ski Team has selected the International Scout as its official vehicle for the 1976 Winter Olympics at Innsbhruk, Austria, and for its schedule of International meets in Europe and North America during the year. A total of 17 Scout Vehicles, either 118-inch wb. Traveler station wagons or 100-inch wb. Scout II sport compacts will provide the team with its ground transportation. Featuring a distinctive red, white and blue design, the Ski Team Scouts are equipped with automatic transmission, V8 engines, bucket seats, first-aid kits, ski racks and two-speed transfer cases. The Scout's four-wheel drive capability combined with its load capacity and smooth ride were major factors in its selection as the official Ski Team vehicle. TD-3994 12/3/75." |
