Winter Garden

Dr. Beeson tending to lettuce and onions in his winter garden. Original caption reads: "These vegetables have been under cultivation all winter and have been doing well in spite of the fact that the winter has been one of the hardest in many years. It seems strange that in a country where it is so easy to grow a garden, so few people have them. From an investigation of 1000 farmers in the south, it was found that only 200 had a garden." |
