Map or Atlas
New Map of the State of Wisconsin

This map shows counties in pink, orange, green, and yellow. Lake Michigan and Lake Superior are labeled as well as rivers and some geographical features. Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, and Illinois are labeled. This map differs from later editions with the absence of a legend, and the absence of the following counties: Ozaukee, Monroe, Kewaunee, Shawano, Jackson, Trempealeau, Buffalo, Pierce, Dunn, Polk, and Douglas; railroad extends from Milwaukee only as far as Ft. Atkinson. The map appeared in the author’s New universal atlas. The map reads: "Entered according to act of Congress, in the year 1850, by Thomas, Cowperthwait & Co. in the clerk’s office of the District court of the eastern district of Pennsylvania." |
