Otto Schmidt was married to Emma Seipp, a daughter of Chicago brewer Conrad Seipp, and an owner of Black Point Estate on Geneva Lake. The Dr. Otto L. Schmidt Memorial Trophy race is an event for Class A sailboats established by the Lake Geneva Yacht Club in 1936 to honor Dr. Schmidt. |
