Governor's Island
| View across water towards Governor's Island and its exposed cliff at the shoreline with trees and plants growing on top. Governor’s Island, formerly part of Governor Leonard J. Farwell’s property, was an island until the 1860s when it was connected to the north shore of Lake Mendota by a narrow causeway. This 60-acre “island” is heavily used now by dog walkers and birders. |
