On the Way Home

A National brand automobile is stopped on the side of an unpaved road as a horse-drawn buggy approaches from the rear. The car is pulling a racing yacht on a trailer. There are two suitcases on the running board. A description of the photograph written by Ernst Schmidt reads, "Probably coming back from the Oshkosh Regatta in 1920. The old National had a terrible time to tow the boat and the trailer was not successful as it was not heavy enough." |
