Photographer on Pier
A photographer is crouching on a wooden pier behind a small camera on a tripod to film C.B. (Chandler Burnell) Chapman, a realtor and good friend of Stanley Hanks, as he swam across Lake Mendota to Picnic Point from the foot of North Carroll Street. The swim took one hour and forty minutes. There is a shoreline in the background. He first made that swim in 1886 with Stanley Hanks, Henry T. Sheldon, and Captain Tom Isabell. |
