Brewery Sign
Carved into a large stone lintel is "Seipp and Lehmann Lager Bier Keller. Gebaut 1864 [Seipp and Lehmann Lager Beer Cellar, Built 1864]." The stone rests on a low pedestal on the grounds of Black Point. Conrad Seipp and Frederick Lehmann formed a partnership in 1858; Lehmann was killed in a carriage accident in 1872. In 1876 the brewery was renamed the Conrad Seipp Brewing Co. |
