| A group of men look on as the statue "Wisconsin" is lifted from the crate using ropes and pulleys. Ropes are wrapped around the statue and the statue's right arm is wrapped to prevent damage. One man is suspended near the chain above the sculpture's. |

| The creation date was corrected on 10-6-2021 per the Historic Structure Report, Book V, Wisconsin State Capitol, Central Portion-Dome and Rotunda, 1997. The report cites a 20 July 1914 Wisconsin State Journal article. The text at the bottom of the photograph reads: "Oct. 16, 1914. Statue taken from crate at 9 A.M." This date is incorrect.
