Caption taped to the bottom of the frame reads: "Crazy Mary on Willy Street commerce: 'A lot of the businesses that get together here really get together a lot. I don't do that. They're not the kinda people I hang around with. They're more the college type, highbrow. Yeah. I just don't. Living here gives me the right not to join them.' On changes: 'When I first lived here, it was hardly any students, mostly residential, not a lot of younger people, just winos and the tracks. Then all of a sudden students started moving in and it became a younger area. Like the Crystal (bar) used to be pretty much an older crowd. The Crystal is owned by young people now. The Willy Bear too. Young people go to Dolly's now. A lot of businesses are starting now and young people own them.'" |
