The Propylaea
Souvenir playing card out of a full deck from the Pan-American Exposition. The Jack of Clubs displays a drawing of "The Propylaea," a large cathedral like building with two steeples. (A proplaea is the structure forming the entrance to a temple.) Between the steeples is a large arch. Columns support the second story which has greenery growing on it. In front of the main gate and along the side is a lawn area with pedestrians walking about. On the reverse is the official logo for the Pan-American Exposition in full color, with an ornate border. |
