Gridiron Club Dinner in Honor of Clifford K. Berryman Menu
Front and back sides of a two-sided menu for a dinner in honor of cartoonist and member Clifford K. Berryman, with a portrait of Berryman and a gridiron as a backdrop. A teddy bear, a figure Berryman is credited with popularizing after creating a 1902 cartoon with a bear and Teddy Roosevelt, looks up at Berryman. Clifford Berryman created many of the cartoons on Gridiron Club dinner menus, as did his cartoonist son, Jim Berryman (also a club member), who drew the portrait on this menu. |
