Fokker F-VII Triomotor

Aerial view of a Fokker F-VII Triomotor in flight flying low over a buildings in a city. This airplane, called the "Southern Cross," was flown in the spring of 1928 from the United States to Australia in the first trans-Pacific flight. The crew included Captain Charles Kingsford Smith, Flight Lieut. Charles Ulm, navigator Harry Lyon, and radio operator James Warner. Advertisements seen on the buildings below read: "Alex Cowan & Sons Ltd. Paper envelopes, stationery, type, printing machinery and materials," "Cowan + Sons Ltd.," "Yes Bros.," "Harrisons Ramsay Pty. Ltd." |
