This was the Turner home from fall 1894-August 1910. In front of the Turner residence (in the center of the photograph) is the home of UW Professor Moses S. Slaughter. He was a Latin scholar and one of Turner's best friends. In 1903, Slaughter let the Turner family use his cabin at Hancock Point, ME which introduced the Turners to the location where they would spend summer vacations together through 1929. |
