Drawing
Opening Day Fishing Season

Imaginative pen-and-ink drawing. This drawing appeared in the Capitol Times on April 30, 1982 with the caption: "The opening of the state fishing season Saturday would not seem official without publishing one of Sid Boyum's perennial pen and ink drawings. This year's elaborate drawing by the local artist features a nearsighted fisherman's companions: waterbugs, beetles, frogs, chipmunks, raccoons, turtles and crayfish. 'A totem pole of fish striving to be birds, a mermaid and merry-go-round add a whimsical touch,' says Boyum. 'A crane tries his luck fishing in the muskrat haunts and ducks seek a nesting place'." Sid's authorship is in the lower right corner. |
