Masked Laughingthrush
A hand-colored lithograph, produced by Wm. E. Hitchcock, of the adult male Garrulax perspicillatus. It was created from William Heine's drawings of a specimen collected at Macao (now Macau) China. "Gmelin" refers to German naturalist Johann Friedrich Gmelin (1748-1804), who assigned the scientific name to this bird. |
