Louisiana, as Formerly Claimed by France: Now Containing Part of British America to the East & Spanish America to the West of the Mississipi | Map or Atlas | Wisconsin Historical Society
Detailed map composed for the London Magazine of the Mississippi River Valley at the conclusion of the French and Indian War. The British colonies themselves remain unlabeled or bordered, but the map does show and name cities, towns, forts, Native American land, mountains, lakes, and rivers. Two converging lines in the "Country of the New Mexico" appear to be roads. A few interesting annotations occur throughout the map, including two that ("extensive meadows full of buffaloes," and "country full of mines") that are repeated in later maps of this area. A floral border frames the title cartouche.

As to the northern boundary between it and what they call Canada, we have left it undescribed in the map, because in the treaty of peace, which was without sucess negotiated between France and us in 1761, this boundary was disputed, as the reader may see in the Lond.
