Map of the British territory of West Florida, extending from the Mississippi River to the Apalachicola River. It shows the borders, cities, towns, forts, harbors, islands, bays, lakes, and rivers. Depth is shown through soundings. An inset map of Pensacola harbor and bay sits in the lower left corner, with note reading "Pensacola O.T. destroyed n 1719." A floral motif borders the title cartouche. The map is accompanied by the adjoining pages of the London Magazine which include the following articles: "State of Florida, and the Spanish Fleet and Army Gone to Attack It"; "Interesting Particulars of the Attack on Jersey, from the Papers of the Late Baron de Rullecourt and other Information"; "Trial of Moses Corbet, Esq; Lt. Gov. of Jersey." |
