Album Page with Violets
An album page decorated with hand-painted yellow violets features interior and exterior photographic views of the Frank B. Fargo house. At top left, a photograph labeled "Children's Room" includes a wicker bassinet with lace curtains and a brass single bed. There are unframed prints on the wall. At top right, a daybed and rocking chair furnish a "Corner in Mother's Room." The daybed has a fringed, patterned cover and large pillows. A table beside the rocker holds several books. There is a large radiator against the wall. At center right is an exterior view of the front of the house in summer, showing a portion of the mansard roof and elaborate porch. There is an octagonal tower on the left. Hanging pots of plants and a large American flag decorate the porch. There is also a large planter on the lawn. In the photograph at lower left, only the porch balustrade is visible through tree branches and wires weighted down with snow. This photograph is dated January 29, 1901. |
