Album Page with Valentine
An album page featuring a die cut, chromolithograph Valentine's Day card in the shape of an arrow. The greeting "To My Sweetheart" is printed on the card, and a handwritten caption describes it as "1st Valentine Feb, 14, 1904." Three photographs and a postcard are also mounted on the page. In the photograph at top left, the three Fargo children, Dorothy, Frank and Stuart are sitting in a sleigh hitched to a pony. Dorothy is wearing a fur stole. The family dog is sitting beside the sleigh. Snow is falling and there is fairly deep snow on the ground. The front porch of their house (the Frank B. Fargo residence) is at left; a house across Mulberry street is in the background, right. In the photograph at middle left, taken in October 1902, Dorothy Fargo is holding a dog as she is posing with her brother Stuart near the steps of their house. A carriage house is in the background. In the photograph at top right, taken the same day, Stuart, Frank and Dorothy are standing together near the porch. At bottom left, a commercial real photo postcard captioned "Mulberry St. Lake Mills, Wis." includes the Frank B. fargo house at left. Tall trees are along the sidewalk. |
