Jacob Witting, Jr.
Jacob Witting, Jr., was born January 15, 1837 in Renhoff, Prussia. He was a soldier in the Iron Brigade during the Civil War. Jacob is posing standing with his crutches in front of a painted backdrop. He lost his leg as the result of a wound during a battle. He died in 1890. The Iron Brigade, a unit comprised of soldiers from Wisconsin, Indiana, and Michigan was known for its determined fighting ability. |
