The Blair Residence

Edward McCormick and Elizabeth Blair House, Keck and Keck Project #500. Project date 1953. George Fred and William Keck were born in Watertown, Wisconsin, and operated an architectural office on Michigan Avenue in Chicago, Illinois. Edward Blair, a former managing partner of William Blair & Company in Chicago, also was the great-grandnephew of Cyrus McCormick, inventor of the McCormick reaper. Mr. Blair was a life trustee at the Art Institute of Chicago, the University of Chicago, Rush University Medical Center and College of the Atlantic, and a life director for the George M. Pullman Educational Foundation. This is an interior photograph showing one of the bedrooms of the Blair house on N. Sheridan Road, Lake Bluff, Illinois. Note the ventilation louver panels on the outside wall of the room. |
