Presidential Political Campaign Buttons

Framed assortment of political campaign buttons for Lyndon B. Johnson and running mate Hubert Humphrey, and Barry Goldwater and running mate William E. Miller. Most of the buttons are the standard round buttons with the names, slogans, or portraits of the candidates. Two are in the shape of a donkey and an elephant, both wearing Goldwater's iconic eyeglasses. Another is a lenticular, or flasher, button, which shifts from an image of Johnson next to a donkey telling his wife: "Start Packing," to an image of Goldwater and his wife riding an elephant and stating: "Goldwaters are Coming." |
