Presidental Political Campaign Ephemera
Two sides of a political campaign fake dollar bill about George McGovern. One side is printed in green, with "1000%" in all four corners, a geometric border around the edge, and a head and shoulders portrait of Thomas Eagleton in the center. Text reads: "Promissory Note," "McGovern says he's behind me 1000 percent!" On the right the text reads: "but... he didn't say how far behind! 1000%." On the left the text reads: "-but you promised, Would you believe 10%?, Payable Nov 8, 1972 at Credibility Gap, USA." The other side of the note is printed in blue and red, with "1000" in the four corners, with a geometric border. There is a head and shoulders portrait of George McGovern, and an image of a shining sun partially behind a cloud. The text reads: "Legal Tender to anyone stupid enough to take it as face value!, Here's the $1000 McGovern promised everyone!" Text on the right reads: "On Thousand, To Redeem: just hold this bill (& your breath!)." Text on the left reads: "On Nov. 7, 1972 this bill will self-destruct!" |
