Newspaper Article/Clipping
"Evening Record" Front Page

Page one of "Evening Record." The handwritten newspaper includes several hand-drawn color illustrations. Beginning in the top left corner, the illustrations include a man holding a shotgun and wearing a yellow and gray striped jacket with a black bow tie, a top hat, with his pants decorated like the American flag. The next illustration is a cartoon of a boy in a red shirt and blue pants feeding his cats from his plate. The illustration in the top right corner is of a man in a black jacket and blue pants advertising a suit sale. There are two illustrations in the bottom right corner: The first is "Hon. Geo. P. Prescott, Dead" in a black suit with black bow tie. The other illustration is of a rifle, pistol, creel, a periscope, and a fishing hook and lure. The masthead features the American flag on the left, a red rose in the middle, and an unidentified blue and white flag on the right. |
