A man is smiling while holding up a handful of greens from a garden. In the background, several people are standing in a lined. Caption reads: "Milwaukee resident Eddie Patterson held up a handful of greens that he planted at his aunt's home at 2406-A N. 7th St. this spring. Patterson was giving them away Friday to anyone who came by. By the end of the day, all of his greens, turnips, and spinach were gone. He said he gave them away because people needed the food, and he thought that the drought would make vegetables expensive. Patterson planted his garden about a month ago and vigorously watered and fertilized it. He plans to plant greens again next week and, when they're grown, give those away too."
