20 at Home to 1 in the Trenches | Poster | Wisconsin Historical Society
Poster featuring a cartoon panel that shows a crowd of men dressing a monumental soldier, who is sitting in a chair. The smaller men are bringing his hat, shoes, belt, and gun. They are surrounded by factories and ships. Poster text reads: "20 AT HOME TO 1 IN THE TRENCHES. It takes the best co-operative efforts of from six to twenty workers at home to properly equip and maintain one American soldier at the front. For each solider boy, weighing on an average, 150 pounds, our factories, mills, mines, farms, etc., must furnish four tons of supplies per annum; including clothing, foods, arms, ammunition, transportation, airplanes, etc., etc. The manufacturers of this community are doing their bit. With consistent help and encouragement for their wage-earning partners and themselves, from all classes of the people, AMERICAN INDUSTRY CAN AND WILL WIN THIS WAR FOR HUMAN LIBERTY. Breeders of industrial war at home must be eliminated. National co-operation is the slogan to insure victory for Democracy over Autocracy."
