ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Terry Andrae State Park opened in 1929, following the 1928 donation of land on the shore of Lake Michigan by Elsbeth Andrae, the widow of Milwaukee businessman Terry Andrae (1868-1927). Adjacent land was donated to the state in 1966 and became John Michael Kohler State Park, named for John Michael Kohler (1844-1900), founder of the Kohler Corporation. The two parks are managed as one unit, known as Kohler-Andrae State Park.
