Highway 41

View down median of road towards a truck parked on the scales of a weigh station in the center of Highway 41 just north of the Wisconsin/Illiinois state line. Signs along the highway mark the Wisconsin state and Kenosha county borders. There is a large billboard for Miller High Life beer, which also welcomes travelers to Wisconsin. The caption on the negative envelope refers to the four lane, divided road as a "superhighway." The caption also notes that the land at right is "partly owned by State Highway Commission and Mr. Fossland." As late as 2014, the Fossland Trust continued to own land east of the highway. |
