ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Not an original Frankl image, since he did not accompany this naval sortie. The Ottoman light cruiser "Midilli" was the former German vessel S.M.S. "Breslau," which was taken into Ottoman service at the start of the war. During the war it operated mainly against Russian ships and facilities in the Black Sea, and late in 1914 it attacked the Russian port of Novorossisk sinking several vessels. Caption in German is illegible.
