She became active in her church's Sunday school and served as an organist; she was also involved in a local youth club as secretary and president.

An obituary is attached to the back of the portrait in German: "Nachruf für Helen Klente Nach Gottes Nathschluss hast de schon vollendet dein Lebenslauf hier auf dem Erdenfreis, viel Liebe hast du all' den Deinen gespendet und legt in ihre Herzen dich als Edelweiss. Als solches wird der Herr auch dich empfangen, dem du gedient bis an dein selig End'. Zu früh bist du den Deinen wohl gegangen in's Heimatland, wo aller Schmerz vollend'. So schlumm're sanst in des Allmacht'gen Erde, wo alle vor und nach dir werden ruh'n, bis einst des Hochsten Wort: "Es werde!" uns all'vereint in seinem Heiligthum. E. Rizsche Klente--Louise Helene Klente wurde geboren den 19. Juli 1875 in Oshkosh, Wis., und starb den 11. November 1896 am Typhus. 1890 wurde sie im Town Germania, Schawous Co., Wis., unter der Umtsfuhrung von Dr. U. M. Wieting zu Gott befehrt, schloss sich der Kirche an und suchte von der Zeit an dem Herrn zu dienen bis zu ihrem Ende, welches sie bewies durch ihr Leben und ihrem Wandel. Sie trug die Leiden, welche der Herr ihr auserlegte, mit Geduld und Ergebung in Gottes Willen. In den Gottesdiensten fehlte sie felten, begleitete dan Umt als Sekretarin in der Sonntagschule, war mehrere Jahre Organistin. Im Jugendverein zeigte sie reges Interesse als Sekretarin und Prasidentin. Ihren fruher Heimgang fuhlen wir deutlich. Sie hinterlasst ihre tieftrauernden Eltern, 2 Bruder und 2 Schwestern, nebst vielen Verwandten und Freunden. Wausau, Wis. Unt. Held."
