| Photograph of an original oil painting of an autumn scene by Sid Boyum. The work shows a small, solitary man in dark greenish hat and coat using a walking stick in a forest of brightly colored fall trees, ablaze with swirling reds, oranges, yellows and browns. He is seen approaching a large, burled trunk that is centrally highlighted in whites and grays. The circular brushstrokes of foliage contrast with the linear brushstrokes of the forest floor. The heavy application of paint adds to the canvas surface texture. The canvas is propped against a yellow and red wall. |
