Matthew Gay Building
View across State Street, at the intersection with North Henry Street, towards the Queen Anne-style Matthew Gay Building, a two-story building with a turret above the corner entrance. The ground floor is Triangle Superette, with advertisements for Pepsi on either side of the store name. Words on the awning read: "Madison's finest fruit store," and "For a gift to please send Wisconsin cheese." Fruits, cheeses, and other foods are on display in the ground floor window. The second floor is Yellow Tower, a clothing store. The oriel window on the second floor on the far left is decorated and painted to advertise Yellow Tower. A sign below the window is marking the door that leads to the second floor. Cars are driving by or are parked along the curb in front of the building. |
