ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I.P. Rumsey was the father of Lucy Rumsey Holt. Alfred and Donald Holt were the sons of Lucy and W.A. Holt. Mr. and Mrs. Trowbridge were friends of the Holts from Lake Forest, Illinois. According to Shan Holt, granddaughter of Lucy Rumsey Holt, "The family always had fruit for dessert, in part to ease the day's burden on the cook and second girl." After the evening meal, according to Shan Holt, "Lucy Rumsey Holt started a tradition of taking the assembled family and guests out on the lake in boats (yes, with the pump organ!), and singing hymns. I remember we had favorites that echoed off the shoreline, such as "Christ Arose!," "Peace Be Still," and the last hymn was always "Pull for the Shore." After singing, we would let loose the the lines holding all the boats together and everyone would hit the oars to get back to the dock."
