Student Night Aboard S.S. Von Steuben
A group of mostly young people are sitting and standing around wooden tables, raising steins of beer while posing for a group portrait. Nearly all of the group are wearing caps with small visor-like brims typical of German (male) student societies. Eight members of the group are identified by numbers written in ink on the front of the postcard. A legend and caption on the reverse identifies, " 1 + 2 = Ed + Marion Brumder; 3= H. de Give; 4 = Capt. Brümings; 5 = Adele Bronhoff; 6 = Dorothy Corbett; 7 = Mr. Gussman; 8 = 'Fritzie'. Student nite [sic] aboard S.S. Von Steuben - mid-Atlantic - Capt. Brümings in rear..." |
