ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The following history is written on the reverse of the photograph: George Brumder at his office desk with his secretary. The office was in the Brumder Bldg on NE corner of West Water St (now Plankinton Ave) and Cedar St (now Kilbourne Ave). Geo. Brumder was owner and president of Germania Publishing Co. (German language newspaper) and Geo. Brumder Book Store. The office and book store were on the 1st floor. The presses were in basement and editorial rooms on 3rd floor. The Brumder family lived on 2nd floor from 1876 until 1882.
