Mid-Century Modern Home Exterior with Lake View
External view across lawn towards the entrance, parking area and lanai of a mid-century modern home by Lake Wisconsin. The lake and a small island are visible through the trees in the distance. The foreground is a long view of the yard with several stands of trees and a couple stumps, cut at ground level. In the middle is the house, where a man in a white shirt is standing under the open-sided varanda, and a parking area with three automobiles — a suburban, a single-door Pontiac coupe and a two-door Chevrolet Impala. The home was built in 1963 and designed by the architect, Paul A. Thomas III, who taught in the Architecture and City and Regional Planning program at Illinois Institute of Technology. Ken Harley was the original owner from 1963 to 1975. |
