Those identified in a letter accompanying the photograph include Charles A. Krause, no. 4; Edward J. Brumder, no. 6; and Joseph B. Gutenkunst, no. 18. Brumder was 17 years old at the time of the photograph. |

Originally the German-English Academy, the school changed its name in 1917 to Milwaukee University School. Milwaukee University School merged with Milwaukee Country Day and Milwaukee Downer Seminary in 1963 to become University School of Milwaukee. |
