Caption with photograph: "Quill pens with a modern touch are being used by Richard Rice, 12, (left front) and Russell Guth, 10; and behind them is Daniel Nuemann, 12. The Ixonia fifth grade is learning about the schools of 100-yrs ago so the students got into the right mood, with their quill pens. They used turkey and goose feather, in making their pens, but added their own touch by fastening ball points and artists pen points to the quills." |
