Street View of Town

Street View of Town | Photograph | Wisconsin Historical Society
View down center of unpaved street. Commercial buildings are on both sides, and a group of men, one with a bicycle, are standing on the sidewalk on the left near a fence. In the street nearby, two men are sitting in a horse-drawn buggy, and a man behind them is sitting in a horse-drawn wagon. A dog is standing in the center of the street looking at the men. The street goes down a hill and continues towards trees in the distance, past a few houses and a church. In the foreground on the right is a building with a sign that reads, in part: "P.C. Gunderso_, Boot & Shoe Mar_." Further down the sidewalk is a sign on a post that reads: "D. Alfred Dale, Physician & Surgeon." Farther down the street is a scale with "Howe" painted on it. Behind the scale is a brick octagonal building with a roof, perhaps a pavilion, and near it is a tall pole, perhaps a flagpole. Also along the board sidewalks are hitching posts and lampposts.
