Dr. Matt A. Nemetz (1892-1961) performs dental work while leaning over a patient seated in his chair. Dental equipment on the left includes a white cuspidor, commonly known as a spit sink. Lettering on the window behind him indicates Dr. M.A. Nemetz, Dentist. His office, at 926 S. 8th Street, was on the third floor of the Manitowoc Savings Bank building.  Prior to this location, his office had been in the Wernecke & Schmitz Hardware Co. building, 937-939 S. 8th Street, until 1930. Dr. Nemetz was a charter member of the Kiwanis Club, active in many other local civic organizations and the Boy Scout program.
