In 1914, Picnic Island was owned by W.A. Holt. In 1911 G.F. Loomis was Superintendent of the Oconto schools. He would serve in Oconto for 2 years then serve as Superintendent of the Waukesha schools and then serve as Superintendent of the Kenosha schools. Loomis served a term as President of the State Teachers Association. Source: "The American School Board Journal." 1921. p. 95. The name "Mrs. Mabelle Loomis" appears in the annual annoucement of the Oconto Woman's Club 1907-08. |
