Gathering at Turner's Grove
A crowd of men, women and children have gathered in a clearing in a wooded area for a July 4 celebration. Sunlight passing through an American flag highlights printing on the flag which reads: "Wm. Atkinson. Post N. 267. Below the flag there is patriotic bunting, and a caricature of Abraham Lincoln on an easel. The men are dressed in suits and the women are wearing large hats and light-colored blouses and dresses. |
