Waukesha County Dragging Operation

Image

Elevated view of two people breaking ice with an ax and an ice breaking pole [a gaff?]; other people in the background are standing in a boat pushing poles into the water. Caption reads: "Breaking up an ice crust was the first job for Waukesha county authorities as they sought to resume dragging operations Wednesday in the Fox river, two miles east of Mukwonago. They searched for Mrs. Rose Marie Planinshek, West Allis housewife, who disappeared Monday, the day her automobile was found nosed into the water near the bridge on highway 15. The camera points south. The sheriff's deputies are Peter Roewlandts (white) and Harold Wolfe."
