Postcard
A Happy Christmas
Christmas postcard of a mountain peak, the Eiger, in Switzerland. In the foreground, a man is dressed in a traditional costume, blowing a horn. Text on the top reads: "A happy Christmas" and in the lower left: "The Eiger. From the Jungfrau Mountain Railway." Text on the reverse reads: "The Eiger is one of the prominent peaks in the Grindelwald district of the Bernese Oberland. It rises to a height of 13,040 feet and was first ascended by Mr. Charles Barrington in 1858. It was a difficult climb, but the prospect from such an altitude is very fine. A good view of the Eiger is obtained from the Jungfrau Mountain Railway which conducts tourists into the heart of the Jungfrau." |
