Post Block
Text on front reads: "Post Block, Spring Green, Wis." Erected by George F. Post in 1894, the three-story Post Block consisted of a west half and an east half connected by a fire wall. It was constructed of brick with many windows. The west half contained a store, above, the Post Apartments and in back was the Opera House. The east half was the Park Hotel and a store. In 1915, a fire destroyed the west half but the fire wall saved the east half. Two awnings read: "J.A.W. Sprecher" and "Machines". A billboard for the Opera House reads: "The College Boy, One Night, Aug. 14." |
