Repairing Old Toys
A boy is using an electric drill on part of a toy car, which is held by a man sitting beside him. Behind them are shelves full of toy cars and trucks. Caption reads: "Every day is paintup, fixup day for Gordon Gunderson, 8, of 1321-A W. State st. Gordon specializes in repairing old toys just for the fun of it. He has a collection now of more than 400 toys in a basement room that looks like Santa Claus' workshop. When necessary, Gordon's father, Omey, helps by shaping metal. They worked against a background of toys that would make most children bug eyed. Gordon gets the toys from rummage sales and neighbors. He said he plans to give them all away in a few years. Now, he still enjoys playing with them." |
